Why Are These Guidelines Important?

Following these PET bottle guidelines ensures your safety and extends the life of your soda maker. PET bottles are built for specific conditions, and misusing them, such as adding hot liquids or over-carbonating, can cause damage or even health risks. Sticking to the do's and don'ts keeps your soda fresh, safe, and your equipment in top shape.

Do's

  1. Use for carbonation and beverages only:
    Soda maker PET bottles are specifically designed for carbonated water and beverages in general.
  2. Fill to the max fill-line:
    Fill the bottle at most up to the maximum fill-line to ensure safe carbonation. Less is always possible.
  3. Rinse and clean regularly:
    Wash the PET bottles with hand warm, soapy water to keep them clean between uses.
  4. Store in a cool place:
    Keep bottles away from direct sunlight and heat to maintain their durability and integrity.
  5. Check expiration date:
    PET bottles for soda makers often come with an expiration date. Replace them as needed to ensure safety and performance.

Dont's

  1. Don’t Use for hot liquids:
    Never use PET bottles for hot or boiling liquids above 40°C as this will damage the material.
  2. Don’t freeze PET bottles:
    Freezing PET bottles can cause cracks and compromise the bottle’s integrity.
  3. Don’t overfill:
    Overfilling PET bottles beyond the max line can lead to unsafe carbonation and spilling.
  4. Don’t use damaged or old bottles:
    If a bottle shows any signs of damage (e.g. cracks, discoloring or dents), replace it immediately. Bottles should also be replaced according to their expiration date.
  5. For sugary drinks follow the rules:
    Carbonate sugary beverages only with soda makers that are designed for it. After carbonation, submerge the Fizz-Infuser in a glass or bowl with hand warm water to make sure all the sugar of the the previous carbonation gets dissolved. Let its sit overnight if necessary. Sugar can impact the functionality of the safety valves if no washed out after use.

These machines are built to handle the carbonation of liquids with different consistencies or sugar content. Always check your soda maker’s specifications and guidelines to ensure safe and effective carbonation

Hand-wash the bottle with warm water and mild dish soap. Do not use hot water or put the bottle in the dishwasher, as it can damage the bottle. You can use one of our silicone brushes.
