How much water should you drink per day?

(This text is an excerpt of a more detailed article on healthline.com)

Your body contains 60% of water and you are constantly losing some of it during your day – that’s normal. And you know that dehydration is bad, but why is that actually?

Why does it matter that you drink for example up to 2 liters of water per day?

Because of dehydration:

  • affects your energy levels and brain function
  • causes impaired mood and concentration
  • increased frequency of headaches
  • performance and endurance suffer

Drinking water can be related to weight loss because it can temporarily increase your metabolism and drinking it 30 minutes before a meal makes you eat less. Sparkling Water, in addition, adds a desirable “feeling full faster” feeling and you consume fewer calories.

Drinking more water might help with:

  • Constipation
  • Cancer
  • Kidney stones
  • Acne and skin hydration

The science here is still in a very early stage and more needs to be done.

Trust your thirst – it’s essential for your survival. And during extreme times (exercise, hot weather, dry climate) monitor your water intake a bit more consciously.

And if you are older then the thirst mechanism can start to malfunction and needs a bit of checking.

Try experimenting with what works best for you.

Cheers,

Your Sodafresh Team.
