2 Years Maximum Use – General Safety Reminder for soda maker PET Bottles

Please note that this is a universal guideline applicable to all PET bottles used with soda makers. It’s essential to replace these bottles every 2 years.

Using them for carbonation beyond this period is not advised due to the increased risk of bottle failure, which can result in personal injury or property damage.

While these bottles should not be used for carbonation after 2 years, they can still be repurposed for storing beverages.

Things to know about my soda maker PET carbonation bottle:

  • Do the bottles expire?

Make sure to check the bottle for the expiration date and care information. After the expiration date has passed and in general after 2 years, the plastic carbonating bottles can no longer be used for carbonation, but they can be used to hold your beverages.

  • How do I clean my carbonating bottles?

Make sure to check the bottle for care information. Bottles are not dishwasher-safe.

To handwash your bottle, rinse with cold or lukewarm water. If needed, use a mild liquid dish soap.

Make sure to avoid placing your bottle face down on a counter-top for prolonged periods of time as this can lead to trapped moisture.

  • How can I get rid of an odor in my bottle?

If your bottle has an odor, you can create a paste of 1 cup of baking soda with 1 cup of lukewarm water or you can create a paste of 1 cup of white vinegar with 1 cup of lukewarm water.
